Cobalt Owl

Terms of Service

Last updated: October 25, 2026.

Cobalt Owl is a brand of Organic Media Buying, LLC (a Delaware limited liability company), a US limited liability company ("we", "us"). These terms apply when you use Cobalt Owl's website, free scan, reports and subscriptions (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. Scan only what you own or are allowed to test

You may submit only websites and apps that you own, or that the owner has given you permission to test. When you start a scan you confirm this. Scanning a system without permission can break US law, including the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (18 U.S.C. § 1030) and state computer-crime laws. You are responsible for having that permission. We may ask for proof of ownership (for example, domain verification) before running some checks, and we may refuse, limit or stop any scan.

2. What the Service does, and what it doesn't

The free scan looks only at what your site makes public to any visitor: response headers, public files, the code your site sends to browsers, and, for Supabase apps, whether tables can be read with the public key. For Supabase we request only the number of rows in a table, never the data in the rows. The Service is not a penetration test, code review, audit or certification.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to: scan anything you are not authorized to test; use findings to access, copy, change or delete anyone's data, or to attack, extort or harm anyone; try to break, overload or get around limits of the Service; resell or automate the Service at scale without our written OK; or use it in any way that breaks the law. We may suspend accounts that do.

4. No guarantee of security

A scan is not a guarantee of security. A good score means only that the issues we check for were not visible from the outside at the time of the scan. We can miss issues, and new ones can appear after any change to your app. Fix suggestions, including prompts for AI tools, are suggestions: review every change yourself before you ship it. See also our Security Disclaimer.

5. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE". TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE WILL FIND EVERY VULNERABILITY OR BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED.

6. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE OR DATA, INCLUDING LOSSES FROM A SECURITY INCIDENT WE DID NOT DETECT. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR US$50. Some states don't allow some of these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

7. You protect us from misuse

If someone brings a claim against us because you scanned a system without permission or broke these terms, you agree to cover our reasonable costs and losses from that claim.

8. Prices, payments and the one-time report

Prices are in US dollars and shown before you pay. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see your full card number. The Full report is a one-time charge of $9 with no subscription.

9. Subscriptions: automatic renewal and cancellation

Owl Watch ($19/month) and Studio ($49/month) are subscriptions that renew automatically every month and charge your card each month until you cancel. Before you subscribe, the checkout page shows the price, the billing frequency and that it renews automatically, and we ask for your agreement. After you subscribe, we email you a confirmation with these terms and how to cancel.

How to cancel: you can cancel at any time, online, in the same way you signed up: use the "Manage subscription" link in any billing email (Stripe customer portal), or email [email protected] from your account email. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing month; you keep access until then and are not charged again. If we change the price, we'll email you before the new price applies, and you can cancel before it does.

10. Refunds

Payments are generally non-refundable, including for partial months, except where the law requires a refund or where we were unable to deliver what you paid for (for example, the report never arrived). If you were charged by mistake, email [email protected] within 30 days and we will look into it. We don't offer any other money-back guarantee.

11. Changes and ending the Service

We may change the Service or these terms. If a change is material, we'll update the date above and, for paying customers, email you in advance. We may suspend or end access for violations of these terms.

If you believe content on our site infringes your copyright, send a notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3) to [email protected], including: your signature, the work, the material and where it is, your contact details, a good-faith statement, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and by applicable US federal law. State and federal courts located in Delaware will have jurisdiction, unless the law where you live gives you a right to sue at home.
